That scene.
That scene in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
That scene where Ron and Hermione have to go to the Prefect compartment and Harry is like, “Okay, I’ll sit with Neville and Luna.” Only Neville’s chasing his toad and Luna’s just being Luna and it’s so hilariously awkward and then these popular girls come in and are like, “Harry, come on, you don’t have to sit with them.” And Harry’s just like, “Fuck you, these guys are my friends.” And he stares them down until they back out.
That scene.
I like that scene.

Slytherin squad
Five quotes that I wish had been in Harry Potter:
- ‘Harry spotted several students trying to levitate their friends wheelchair up the Grand Staircase.’
- ‘“Durmstrang and Beauxbatons only accept a handful of select students each year,” Hermione declared, “Whereas Hogwarts accepts everyone, of course. Regardless of their gender, race, sexuality, ability, religion…”
“How do you know that?” Ron interrupted.
“I read, Ron!”’- ‘”Oh, Percy,” Mrs. Weasley cried, “We’re just as much to blame.”’
- ‘”Furthermore,” Harry passionately said, “Severus Snape isn’t even the first one to turn on you. That honor goes to Regulus Black!”
“Black’s death was an accident!”
“It wasn’t,” Harry replied.
Voldemort’s frown turned into a snarl.’- ‘And there were Dean and Seamus, walking hand-and-hand, beaming at their son. He was a little older than James.’
#33 Headcanon
I’m putting some trans-woman!ginny here because well I love this headcanon so much
- She’s often having to fight family friends who think she’s just a trans woman because her mother wanted a girl. Since she’s pretty young, so sometimes she just is too tired and tell them to fuck themselves, and Molly can’t even complain because she’s also telling them to fuck themselves.
- Yeah, she loves quidditch, but one of the reasons she was so into start playing it was because of q u i d d i t c h b o d y. Everytime she noted her body improving she was just so happy
- Sometimes when Harry wasn’t that into her, she thinked it was because she was trans, even if she knew it wasn’t because of that. She had to let this thought go, but was hard.
- Everytime going up the stars to the girls dorm is a little moment of happiness in her life. Everytime. Because that’s it, no one can say she isn’t a girl now!
- People tends to tell she is “the new Viktor Krum” when she starts playing pro-Quidditch. She got really, really sad everytime she hears this.
- When she was trying to the Holyhead Harpies she was so fucking afraid. She was saying all the time What if they don’t think I’m enough a girl to the team?, and she would go really bad at the tests if the captain hadn’t calm her down.
- The kids were, of course, by magical means. She was so happy with them.
- She couldn’t change clothes in front of the other girls in her first year at Hogwarts. A lot of girls had to told her that it was ok until she was confortable with it, even if she was transitioning.
- The first time she kissed a girl a lot of people was like yeah, this is the proof he’s a boy, and she was a whole month with a “I’m a trans girl AND BISSEXUAL” pin on her robes because she was tired to explain.
i know it’s not real and i know i made it but this makes me so happy its stupid
I have never thought of this ship but this edit is very well done and coupled with the fact that Cedric Diggory is a very decent guy and Harry deserves all the sweetness in the world I wish someone would write a fic about this.
maybe it’s…. subtle.
@nefowls they were too precious…… 😥
Healers in video games: small, low HP, if you blow on them they die
Healers in D&D: tankiest in the group, always on the attack, beats the fighter in arm wrestling
That one time they were just being teenagers.
I love them SO much in this scene.
I have this theory that Neville is supposed to represent everything that Peter could have been. You know, both of them were the weak link in the friend group, the guy easily influenced. But instead, Rowling made Neville weak to prove the two paths an individual could take. How each of our weaknesses manifest in different ways. Peter’s weakness made him a villain, ultimately worse than Voldemort because he betrayed his friends, while Neville’s weakness made him work harder and in the end made him Harry’s strongest ally.
Harry = James, Ron = Sirius, Hermione = Remus, Neville = Peter, Ginny = Lily, Luna = Snape.
You will notice that none of the six from the old generation survived. The kids each have traits from the old generation but they’re here to fix the past, and thus must survive the series to metaphorically right the past. Some may raise their eyebrows at Luna as Snape, but just as Harry represents James (the popular kid who was good at quidditch, but didn’t become arrogant like his father) or like Peter and Neville (two people who could have been cowards, but Neville rises to life’s challenges) Luna mirrors Snape in being mocked, a pariah, Looney Lovegood and Snivellus. Instead of being resentful, she rose above it, and loved herself regardless.
If you went with Harry to the Ministry of Magic in book 5, you mattered beyond just backing him up against Voldemort. This core six represented the loss and failure of the Marauders generation, and the hopes of a post-Voldemort future.
Holy shit
WAIT!
Might I suggest every single thing from the above except
Harry = Sirius
Ron = James
Harry was the boy who grew up in an unloved house that was neglectful at best, abusive at worst, but eventually went to Hogwarts, was sorted into Gryffindor despite the odds of being in Slytherin, and found a new family in a group of friends.
Ron was the brave adventurous boy who grew up in a loving household (that was pureblood but quirky/uninterested in social norms), a boy who took in this raggedy abused kid as his brother, a boy whose family accepted said brother as one of their own without hesitation. (And on the ‘foil’ side, Ron represents the opposite of James as well, being a self-conscious poor kid compared to James’ arrogant rich side. Two sides of the same coin.)
ONE MORE THING
Might I also suggest:
Hermione = Lily
Ginny = Remus
Hermione is the smart, intelligent, quick witted girl from a Muggle family that the most bigoted of the purebloods look down on and ridicule because of race and outright jealousy. She’s the brightest witch in her generation, despite more ‘humble’ beginnings and is able to win the admiration of all her teachers without letting it change who she is as a person. She’s also the social crusader (S.P.E.W. anyone?) and drawn to outsiders because of her own feeling of not belonging due to how her intelligence and muggle birth sets her apart. She sees value in those from non-traditional households and backgrounds because she herself fits into that category.
Ginny is the girl from a loving family whose father worked at the ministry of magic and due to that connection, came in contact with an evil power that psychologically and physically damaged her in a way that made her an outcast among her peers and severely hindered her ability to form friendships while under it’s influence. The effects of such contact last her lifetime (the trauma of sharing Voldemort’s mind? HUGE), even if the narrative doesn’t focus on them the way it does with Remus. In fact, her experience of being an outcast leads her to reach out to the one person who is even more marginalized than her (Luna) in a way that Remus was unable to do because Severus wouldn’t let him in (which intersects with Luna being what Severs was not).
