Consider: the monkey brain/human brain meme but instead it’s feminist brain/lesbian brain

Feminist brain: this character would never realistically fight in that outfit

Lesbian brain: tiddies hot

Feminist brain: gender non confirming women as villains are queercoding and teaching us that being a lesbian / wlw / gnc woman is evil and bad

Lesbian brain: step on me hot evil lady

Feminist brain: That’s right! She doesn’t need a love interest! She’s a fully functional compete human being without a man.

Lesbian brain: She doesn’t need a man because SHE’S A LESBIAN.

I’ve seen several people being like “ummmmmmmmmmm nobody was mad that a cis man playing a pre op trans woman on oitnb” it was literally Laverne’s twin brother who she personally asked to do it so as not to trigger her dysphoria like do you not see how that’s an entirely different situation

And the funny thing is, it apparently was actually a compromise between Laverne and the production. Production didn’t want her to do it so as to not trigger her, while Laverne was absolutely willing to give it a try, because she’s an actress, that’s what she does.

What I mean when I say I like a villain:

  • I like their story
  • I like their motivations
  • I like their skills/powers
  • I like their intelligence
  • I like their quotes
  • I find them interesting
  • I like their relationship with other character(s)

What I definitely don’t mean when I say I like a villain:

  • “They’re just misunderstood”
  • I’m defending every single one of their actions and I think they’re 100% innocent
  • I’m a dumbass who doesn’t know that they’re a villain

Explanation:

Tan – Married husband without a proposal

Antoni – The “You don’t drink pickle juice?” scene

Karamo – Calls a hot fireman nothing but “Superman” for an entire episode, but also has healthy conversations about police brutality with a white, Trump-supporting policeman

Bobby – Breaks something in IKEA and runs away

Jonathan – “WHERE’S ALEC BALDWIN? I NEED ALEC BALDWIN! THERE ARE NO PRODUCTS IN HERE!”

Um, it’s better than that actually. Laverne was totally willing to do it because that’s her job as an actress (although it could have triggered dysphoria) but the directors didn’t want to put her through that when she so happened to have a convenient twin brother because like how often do you get that lucky?

So on the one hand you have filmmakers utterly disregarding trans people’s experience and just doing whatever the fuck they want. And on the other hand you have filmmakers being very aware of trans issues and caring so much about a trans woman’s wellbeing that they didn’t want to put her through something potentially triggering when it wasn’t necessary. Big difference.

I figured out a simple guide to the alignment chart last night

Lawful: Rules matter more to me than individuals.
Chaotic: Individuals matter more to me than rules.

Good: Other people’s well-being is more important than my own.
Evil: My own well-being is more important than other people’s.

Neutrals: My opinion of what is more important is determined on a case-by-case basis.

So a Lawful Good character’s guiding moral philosophy might be “I follow the rules because the rules keep people safe, even if they are sometimes inconvenient or harmful to me or other individuals.” A Chaotic Evil character’s guiding moral philosophy would be like “Screw the rules and screw you.”

This is a very succint way of explaining a long post from a few months ago. It is also kind of how it was originally written, and is what I use. No more “Is he chaotic neutral or chaotic evil” questions.

It also makes Evil a playable alignment
