Okay but think even harder. Not only cpuld she have been a far better double agent than Snape (given some occlumency lessons), if she had been a primary character, or, hell, even had her own series, and JK was a little more open to complicated topics, she could have focused on issues that might pop up with that ability- such as identity crisis, maybe even a sexuality crisis. I mean I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she had body image problems early on or concluded that she was gender fluid.
